SESSION 8: INTEGRATED NETWORKS OF THE FUTURE Session overview: Across the previous two days we have examined global signaling standards, the importance of testing and certification, the need for greater standardisation, the role of telecommunications and interlockings, operations, maintenance, energy efficiency and reliability. The challenge now is to address how all stakeholders can work together to create a unified business case and approach for the cost effective, integrated, interoperable and automated railways of the future.
