CONFERENCE DAY THREE ;THURSDAY 11 MARCH 2010
SPECIALIST WORKSHOPS FOR RAILWAY SIGNALLING AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS PROFESSIONALS
The workshop format gives delegates access to detailed technical insights. The technical visit offers delegates hands-on experience of a recent ERTMS deployment. We believe that by attending one of the day three options, delegates will gain best practice, practical insights that can be applied to the benefit of their current and future projects.
Chose from a selection of:
- Workshop 1 - Developing an integrated view of GSM-R
- Workshop 2 - Developing test strategies for ERTMS validation
- Workshop 3 - The evolution of ERTMS regional
- Technical visit - Roma-Termini IXL and ERTMS high-speed control rooms and a trip on the Rome-Napoli high-speed line
| Workshop 1: Developing an integrated view of GSM-R and ensuring that GSM-R is an integral part of all advanced signalling deployments GSM-R has seen a great success in standardisation and deployment. It has been developed to help railways in achieving interoperability, reducing operational costs and improving safety at higher speeds. The solution is a success story in Europe and there are many lessons to be learnt from the GSM-R industry. | |

WORKSHOP 2
| Workshop 2: Developing test strategies for validating ERTMS networks to ensure interoperability and SRS compliance There are numerous ERTMS projects underway. All have varying requirements and different infrastructure managers opt for technologies from numerous suppliers. In all cases it is essential that solid test and validation procedures are in place to ensure the success of the project – namely interoperability on a national and cross-border level. | |
